Reba Janice Pendry Vanhoy, 92, transitioned peacefully to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
Janice, as was known by most, the daughter of Grover and Winnie Clay Pendrey, was born in Keyrock, WV on September 25, 1931, where she was to live her life. She married her beloved husband Bud Vanhoy, Jr. in 1948 and later became parents to a daughter and son. Janice was devoted to her family and spent a lifetime caring for, guiding and inspiring others.
In addition to maintaining a home for her family, she also worked in several retail establishments in the Pineville area over the years. She faithfully served the Lord and the community in various capacities throughout her years of active membership at Rockcastle Baptist Church. One of her most treasured experiences for many years was visiting with and delivering Christmas fruit baskets and flowers to shut ins. She always said those were her Christmas Blessings.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her loving husband Jr; special son-in-law Jerry Domi; brothers, Woodrow, Paul and Pete; and sisters, Millie Mae, Virginia Lowe, Ruby Tolliver, Sally Sanders and Betty Houck.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Linda Domi; son Kenny and wife Suzie; sister Lucy Bennett; grandsons, Jeff Domi and wife Sabrina and Chad Vanhoy and wife Edna; great-grandsons, Hunter Vanhoy and wife Savannah, Lucas Vanhoy and Alex Domi; great-great-granddaughter Freya Vanhoy; and many special nieces and nephews.
“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or “Love Gifts” to Saulsville Baptist Church.
