Mabel June Hamilton Cook, 87, entered new life on February 23, 2026. Born April 10, 1938, to the late Houston and Martha Hamilton, Mabel was one of ten children. Mabel faithfully attended Beckley Praise Church until her health prevented her from doing so. She loved flowers, especially roses, but her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a caring mother to her five children and enjoyed being a grandmother to all her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over forty years, Truman Cook. Two grandchildren, Sabrina Pizzino and Channing Lambert, and two sons-in-law, Ronnie Pack and Ricky Blankenship.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Betty Pack, Sherry Cook, Sandra Persinger, Susan Slade and her husband Phil, and Valarie Blankenship. Her grandchildren: Leslie Lilly, Anthony Pizzino, Donavon Cline, Steven Cline, Eric Kelly, Gabrielle Lambert, Mitchelle Lambert, and Jennifer Fortner. Great-grandchildren: Charlie Lilly, Courtney Fortner, Kyra Blankenship, Zoey Lambert, Aria Daniels, Lucas Kelly, and Aiden Kelly, and a host of extended family and friends.
In keeping with her wishes, Mabel will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00am at Beckley Praise Church.
